How we work

Fair dealing is how we move the needle

The way you get big things done is by being someone people trust. So we hold to a few things, without exception.

Value for everyone

Every engagement should leave growers, partners, and the planet better off. If it doesn't, it's not a deal we want.

Accountability

We own our commitments and our mistakes. Say it, do it — and stand behind it.

Transparency

Straight answers and open books. No surprises, for growers or partners.

Inclusive & aligned

We value diverse people and honest disagreement — all pulling toward the same purpose.

We're hiring for the mission

Every farm we work with starts the same way: with a site report on that one operation, covering its energy picture, thermal loads, subsurface conditions, available incentives and a modeled cost range. It is the first thing a grower ever sees from us, and it is what a decision eventually gets made on. Which means it has to be right.

Technical Advisor — Geothermal Feasibility

Greenhouses and controlled environment agriculture, barns, and other agricultural operations.
Remote

We are looking for a licensed or certified geothermal designer to review the studies we produce, correct what we get wrong, and develop the parts that need real engineering judgment. We build a structured draft from public data. You read it as an engineer and tell us where it is wrong, where it is overconfident, and where it is quietly guessing.

We work with greenhouses and controlled environment agriculture, barns, and other agricultural operations, mostly across New York, Pennsylvania and southern New England. The thermal problems are real ones: annually imbalanced heating-dominated loads, simultaneous temperature and humidity control, and process heat recovery that has to land where the hot water actually gets used.

What you would do

  • Review our draft studies. Read them as an engineer and mark what is wrong, overconfident, or quietly guessing.
  • Develop the load model. Peak and annual thermal loads built from equipment schedules and production data, not floor area.
  • Size the ground loop. Bore length, configuration, spacing and depth for annually imbalanced, heating-dominated loads.
  • Pressure-test the economics. Installed cost per ton, seasonal COP and heat-recovery capture rates, checked against systems you have seen built.
  • Write what needs judgment. The risks, the where-we-would-start recommendation, and an honest account of what cannot be known without a site walk.
  • Say when a site needs a test bore before anyone commits.
  • Seal work where you are licensed and willing. Optional, and never on something you have not properly reviewed.

What we need

  • Certified Geothermal Designer (CGD) issued by AEE, or an equivalent IGSHPA credential, current and in good standing.
  • Five or more years designing commercial ground-source systems, not residential only.
  • Vertical closed-loop borefield sizing on projects of 50 tons and up, with real numbers you can recall.
  • Cold-climate experience, IECC zone 5 or 6, where the design heating load actually bites.
  • Ground loop design and load modeling software. GLD, GLHEPRO or comparable.
  • A willingness to write down what you do not know. Our reports say so explicitly, and we will not publish false confidence.
  • Your own professional liability coverage.

Not that role, but close to it?

The Technical Advisor post above is the one we are actively filling. We are also building a bench on both sides of the business, and we keep those introductions warm. If one of these is you, write to us and say so.
